Coffee, water, refreshments and snacks are free during the break inside the theater. Arrive at lunchtime and enjoy some delicious selections from a range of food trucks just across the street.

Can I select my seat in advance?
Seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will encourage our audience to sit by new people each session to optimise the opportunities to meet others. All seats have great views.

Who should attend?
We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic about sharing their ideas and learning about others. Apart from our speakers, the energy that the audience brings is what makes our event special. We hope to bring together a diverse group with different fields of expertise.

Why do I have to register?
Most of the information you share is used for a personalised name badge designed to help you meet others and start conversations. It just helps us ensure that we best serve our audience. Your information is kept confidential and is used for internal purposes only.

How many people will be able to attend TEDxBasel 2019?
There are 900 available tickets for the 2019 event. In addition, we offer complimentary seats to our partners.

Why 60 CHF?
TEDxBasel is a non-profit organisation and while the entire team works for free, organising the event generates costs – from venue rental to catering to AV. To cover these costs, we work with partners and ask for a participation fee from you. We are sure that an exciting day of idea sharing, inspiration, and the chance to meet new people will be worth the price.

How can I pay?
You can pay on our website when you check out with most credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Once you have paid, your registration will be confirmed. We are unable to accept bank transfers at the moment.

What if I do not get a confirmation email?
All completed registration and payments will lead to an email. If you have not received one confirmation email per ticket purchase, this may mean:

  • Checkout was not completed

  • Payment was not processed

  • Email was entered incorrectly

Contact us at registration@tedxbasel.ch if you are unsure and we will try to answer your questions as best as possible.

I entered my credit card info incorrectly. Do I have to start over?
Unfortunately our system does not save your registration form, so yes, you will have to start over.

Can I purchase more than one ticket?
Yes! Unfortunately our current ticketing system only allows you to add one ticket to your cart at a time. However, multiple tickets can be bought in one purchase. If you so wish, for group purchases of five tickets or more, you can email registration@tedxbasel.ch and our friendly staff can help you out.

Can I purchase a ticket to TEDxBasel on the day of the event?
TEDxBasel is normally a sold-out event so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that there will be any available tickets for sale at the door.

Is my ticket and registration tax deductible?
Whilst TEDxBasel is a not-for-profit group, registration to our event is not tax deductible.

How can I get involved? Do you need volunteers?
Yes - we love volunteers and you are welcome to register your interest via our volunteer sign up form here.

What language is the event in?
While all speakers are given the choice to speak in the local languages, due to the fact that their idea will have a greater impact when shared internationally, most choose to speak in English. This year's event will be in English.

What if I can no longer attend? Is my ticket transferable?
Unfortunately purchased tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please bring an ID with you to the event.

What is the TEDxBasel book?
With this purchase we give you a little surprise.  Each year, the organisers select a book that embodies the event theme in some way. If you like reading and enjoy surprises, then this is just the ticket for you.

When will the speaker lineup be released?
A few weeks leading up to the event a few speakers will be announced, but not all speakers are released before the event. We like to keep a few surprises for our guests to make the conference more exciting.

Can children attend?
Yes. TEDxBasel is open to anyone 13 and over. Children under 13 will not be allowed into the official live talks theater.
